I know I am a nerd

Ok, so before I even get started and some one wants to make a smart aleck comment, I am fully aware of the fact that I am a big nerd. I mean, what do you expect. My mother is an English teacher turned librarian. (Obviously, I picked up her love of books not her skill of the English language!) I was talking about books with some of the girls I work with and we were talking about what we were reading. I am not reading anything right this second and I realized that I don't remember a time when I was not reading anything. Actually, I take that back. I have been reading a few different Durable Medical Equipment magazines...thrilling, I know. I love to look at Amazon.com and look at all the new releases and try to think about what I am going to read next. I usually have a stock pile of about 3 to 4 books in the wings just waiting for me to move to the next one. So, I guess what I don't understand is why do people not like to read? It seems so strange to me but I know that lots of people don't like to read. One girl at work asked me how I find time to read. I told her I probably read when I should be doing other stuff. I really need to find some good books for the summer. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

On another equally unimportant subject, I felt bad for Elliott on American Idol last night. I haven't been watching it until the last two times or so (I just want to see the end results). Of course being from Birmingham, I can't help but love Taylor. You have to admit he has a great stage presence...his dancing around is hysterical. But, I would have liked for Elliott to have gone on. He just seemed so sweet and so humble. I guess that is the way it goes though. Nobody is going to vote off anyone who will bare that much cleavage. I am sure he will be just fine though.

Wow. I know this has been a really informative post so be sure to check back later for more earth shattering revelations.

First of all Rachel, I'm impressed that you increased your blog posting production. Second of all, I don't think you are a nerd. Finally, I think Elliot's departure has secured a Taylor victory. The Elliot fans are mad that Katherine smiled/cheered when Elliot's name was announced. I think tho fans will vote for Taylor.

Congrats on your weight loss by the way.

Hey Rachel, I saw your comments about WW on my friend, Kim's blog, twisted silver. I have been doing WW since Jan. 14th and have lost 20.6 lbs. I love WW and all of the support. I will become Lifetime on Wednesday after 6 weeks at my goal. I am so excited. Keep up the good work and remember the reward at the end it is SOOO worth it. GOOD LUCK!
