My Worst Nightmare Come True

Feet. Stinky, dirty, fungus infested, toe jam, athletes foot, FEET. I hate feet. They touch the floor, they sit in shoes all day and sweat. They smell, ugh. GAG. I don't remember when I first started hating feet but I know that it started sometime during college. Now, for someone who hates feet, what would be the worst place ever? The podiatrist office, of course.
I have been fighting with an ingrown toenail since September. I thought it was a lot better but after some bad shoe choices (no comment from you, Kim) it was killing me. I got the name of a podiatrist close to my office and I thought, hey, I can do this. I will go, he will just pull it out quickly, and it will all be over. When I got to the office the doctor was very nice. He game me my options, one of which was to cut it out. Oh, no. NO, NO, NO. So I left the office and went back to work. My toe was throbbing so bad, I convinced myself to go back that afternoon. Now, the real fun started. I had been warned that the shot to numb my toe was bad but I made it through that. Then they left the room for a few minutes. I started sweating, and I got sick to my stomach. Everywhere I looked were pictures of feet, diagrams of feet, ads for foot fungus medicine, FEET EVERYWHERE. I kept trying to close my eyes and not think about it but I started getting dizzy. I was feeling so bad, I was afraid I was going to pass out. I starting thinking "what if this big girl falls off this table?" I didn't want to be the big girl that fell off the table and they had to call 911. It was awful! Finally, after what seemed like an hour, the doctor came in. The actual procedure wasn't that bad but when I got ready to leave, I am sure it looked like I had wet myself. My clothes were soaking wet. I had to go home and change clothes! Anyway, I know that I made it a lot worse than it had to be but it was an awful experience. One I hope never to have to live over again!

It's hard to believe that I used to kiss your sweet little feet when you were a baby....maybe that traumatized you and caused your phobia about feet.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching...and I'm so thankful I have such a weird best friend! All joking aside though, I can really sympathize on the ingrown toenail thing. Your new shoes (the third pair) should be good for the toes though!

Never let them defeet you!

P.S.
In my opinion that picture of the week looks more like Grandma in her kerchief than Caesar.
