Eat for the Cure!

Ok, so some of you have expressed an interest in helping raise money for Breast cancer awareness but you say you just don't have time. So, to help you out here is another way for you to raise money without doing anything out of the ordinary: EATING! There are several food manufacturers who are doing something extra this month to raise money (each one has their own "guidelines"). While you are at the grocery this month, check out these items that you probably buy anyway.

*General Mills: Cheerios Cereal, Nature Valley Granola Bars, Progresso Soup, Hamburger Helper, Green Giant Frozen Vegetables, Pillsbury Crescent rolls and Sweet rolls, and refrigerated cookie dough, Total Cereal, Betty Crocker Cookie mixes. (General Mills has agreed to donate $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure)

*ACH foods: Spice Islands Spices, Karo Light Corn Syrup, Mazola Cooking Oils and Sprays
ACH has agreend to donate 25 cents to Komen for the Cure for each proof of purchase submitted from participating brands through October 31. Check out the website BakeForTheCure.com. Enter a recipe and they will donate 10 cents with a minimum of $250,000.

So if that isn't enough check out the pink M & M's. I saw them in the store this past weekend. Panera Bread is doing the Pink Ribbon bagels and a portion of the proceeds are donated (these are yummy, I had them last year at the walk for the cure).

Wheww...that's a lot but I am not done. During October, 12 of the most-loved romantic comedies, dramas and tear-jerkers from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM Home Entertainment will be wrapped in pink for the DVDs for the Cure program. Donation: 50 cents from the sale of each DVD to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. $14.98 each at Best Buy, Kmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Kroger and other grocery and electronics stores. (Obviously, I cut and pasted that last paragraph. I don't use the term "most-loved" very often!)

So, check out the above items and when you doing your grocery shopping this month, see what other items you can buy to support a cure.

I saw the movies wrapped in pink a month ago at Sam's. Actually it was the same day I called you about the tag for the Cure!
